FANDOM

My fandom began in middle school when I first saw Star Wars. I became a huge fan of the original movies and even the expanded universe. I wanted to write my own Star Wars novels and do costumes as well. Later in middle school my best friend introduced me to Sailor Moon and other TV anime, like Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z. While I liked the others, I was the biggest fan of Sailor Moon, recording it every day and gobbling up whatever merchandise I could find. We then branched out to other animes we could find, such as Tenchi Muyo (before it was on TV) and Slayers and I downloaded low quality fansubs of shows like Gravitation and Kodocha. I began collecting anime DVDs and still have good sized collection. I wouldn't ever have a game system in my house until highschool, and I still don't play many games but I do love RPG games like Disgaea and the Final Fantasy series. Now my most frequently used system is my handy pocket sized DS! I have listened to J-pop on and off, but more recently, I was introduced to Hello!Project. I am now a huge fan of this all girl J-pop company, including the groups Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou, and C-ute and many talented older graduates. Also more recently, I invested in my first ball-jointed doll, and now I have two.

COSTUMING

I've been cosplaying and attending conventions since my first con, Anime Expo 2003. It is really not all that long, but I've stayed very active in the convention/cosplay community. I have over 45 costumes and 6 masquerade awards under my belt. I have been part of various cosplay groups for performances, including Happy!Project as well as performing solo. I really like to portray cute young characters, and I love costumes that are frilly and sparkly. I also love lolita fashion and similarly styled costumes. Generally I cosplay a character because I like them as well as their outfit. Recently I have a lot of Hello!Project j-pop costumes which are some of the most challenging to make! I am trying to branch out and try different styles of costumes. My strengths in costume making are drafting patterns and sewing in general, though I am fairly skilled with wigs also. I am currently learning to make more involved props. I attend just about every local convention relative to my interests, and occasionally travel to nearby states or back home for other conventions. I also enjoy running panels and other events with Arizona's costuming community, SunaCosu at local conventions.

PERSONAL

Currently I live in Arizona with my boyfriend, FrankCastleAZ. I work as a special education teacher in middle school. I'm originally from Oklahoma and lived there until highschool, before moving to Arizona to earn my degree at ASU. I love sunny Arizona and plan to stay here - I want to settle down with a house and pets!
